Skinny Molly was founded by guitarist/vocalist Mike Estes (formerly of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackfoot) original Molly Hatchet guitarist Dave Hlubek and Nashville, TN studio drummer Kurt Pietro. Originally slated to do a one-off tour of Europe in 2004, Skinny Molly has, fourteen years later, become one of the hardest working and popular rock bands out of the southern United States. "That first tour went great," Estes says. "so we decided to keep it going." From 2004 to 2007 (Hlubeck went back to Molly Hatchet in 2005) the band had different members come and go. By 2008, the line up was solidified for the next nine years; Estes, Pietro, former Rossington Band and Blackfoot guitarist/vocalist Jay Johnson and Grand Ole Opry stalwart bassist Luke Bradshaw. They toured relentlessly and recorded three albums; "No Good Deed" (2008) "Haywire Riot" (2012) and "Here For a Good Time" (2014) "We did the 'Three in Thirty' tour after the first record. Three continents in thirty days. It was nuts. We've been staying on the road or in the studio a whole bunch since then. The plan is to keep going as long as people keep coming to see us." Estes said.
Jawbone are a new and exciting London-based four-piece band. Beginning as a collaboration between established solo artists Paddy Milner (keyboards, vocals) and Marcus Bonfanti (guitar, vocals), the band was soon joined by the renowned rhythm section of Rex Horan (bass, vocals) and Evan Jenkins (drums, percussion), Jawbone has quickly become a band with a unique sound focused on delivering strong songs. Each member of Jawbone are all respected musicians in the industry. They have played with everyone from Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Ten Years After, Van Morrison Robert Plant, Dave Gilmour, Seth Lakeman, Cliff Richard, Ginger Baker, Ronnie Wood, Shuggie Otis, Laura Marling, James Hunter, Phil Manzanera, Garth Hudson, Jimmy Carl Black and many more. In January 2018, Jawbone were chosen to back Eric Clapton, Van Morrison & Tom Jones at Paul Jones’ legendary charity show at G-Live in Guildford, gaining rave reviews from the artists involved and the sell-out audience alike!
The CHRIS JAGGER GROUP Chris Jagger, actor, journalist and musician first recorded in the 70’s for Asylum in LA, and toured in the US and UK. After a long break he started writing again, notably helping his brother Mick on the Rolling Stones albums ‘Dirty Work’ and ‘Steel Wheels’. Since then he has concentrated on his own work, with guest appearances by such luminaries as Dave Gilmour, Dave Stewart, Danny Thompson, John Etheridge and, not surprisingly, Mick Jagger. Chris has written for various magazines and newspapers including The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Mail on Sunday and Rolling Stone, and wrote and presented a three part series for the BBC on British blues giant Alexis Korner.
CLIMAX BLUES BAND - The Climax Blues Band of today carries the same standard of quality as it did when the band formed back in the late 60s and achieved such great success and recognition through the 70s and 80s, huge selling albums like FM / Live and Gold Plated, the 1976 hit single Couldn’t Get It Right (from Gold Plated) and I Love You in 1981, the reputation carrying right through until the tragic death of founder member Colin Cooper in 2008. Colin’s death could have meant the end of Climax Blues Band but his desire was for the band to continue creating the fine blues blend that the band has been associated with since its formation, and that desire has been accepted with relish by the remaining members of the band. George Glover has been at the keyboards in Climax since 1981, very much part of the nucleus of the band, Lester Hunt on guitar joined in 1986, drummer Roy Adams in 1987 and Neil Simpson on bass in the early 90s.
This solid unit has flown the Climax flag with tremendous passion and style. Now there is a spring in their step, taking the band forward and already pleasing crowds throughout Europe, the ‘seamless’ transition in carrying on creating the unique Climax sound is the result of hard work, disguised by a band having a great time making music…. Graham Dee was recruited in 2012 to front the band. With his own distinctive style and a pedigree on the blues scene which included performing with The Blues Collective, The Red Lemons and joining ex-Feelgoods in The Lone Sharks as well as session vocals and voice coaching, at the same time Chris ‘Beebe’ Aldridge took on the saxophone duties with a fresh and exciting dynamic sound, both adding their own dimensions to the musicians that have carried the flag for Climax as a unit for over 15 years, in Les’s case over 25 years, and George for over 30 years. They were sensational at BOTF in 2018 and we just HAD to ask them back again!

NINE BELOW ZERO - Since their formation in 1977 NINE BELOW ZERO have developed a reputation as one of the best blues bands in the country. Their high energy live act was already well established by the time they signed to A&M RECORDS in 1980 and was forever captured on their classic live album 1980’s LIVE AT THE MARQUEE. Legendary producer GLYN JOHNS subsequently worked with the band on 1981’s DON’T POINT YOUR FINGER and they became a familiar sight on seminal TV shows like THE OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST, THE SOUTH BANK SHOW and memorably performed ‘’11+11’’ on the very first episode of anarchic comedy hit THE YOUNG ONES. High profile tours with THE WHO and The KINKS followed and although their musicianship was reaching new heights 1982’s THIRD DEGREE was the last album released by the classic line-up. The band made a triumphant return in 1990 to celebrate their 10th anniversary with an all new rhythm section consisting of BRENDAN O’NEILL (Drums) and GERRY MCAVOY (Bass) from RORY GALLAGHER’s band. A sell-out UK tour with this line-up led to a new record deal and tours with the likes of STING, RAY DAVIES, BRIAN MAY and an incredible 12 nights at THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL with ERIC CLAPTON. The band later formed their own record company, ZED RECORDS, and this creative control brought further success including 2009’s critically acclaimed album ‘IT’S NEVER TOO LATE’ and appearances with the likes of GARY MOORE, CHUCK BERRY, JOOLS HOLLAND and PAUL JONES. Universal’s rerelease of the band’s first three albums inspired the classic line-up, including BRIAN BETHELL (Bass), to reconvene for the first time since 1982. They were welcomed with open arms by loyal fans at shows culminating in a 35th anniversary tour with THE STRANGLERS. 2015 saw Mark and Dennis’ first release as an acoustic DUO, and the band return to GLENN TILBROOK’s 45 RPM STUDIOS where they recorded their own versions of rare blues and soul tracks for inclusion on the latest 13 SHADES OF BLUE. For this recording the band introduced a horn section, keyboards, violin and backing vocalists to create an exciting new big band sound. A new 8-Piece NBZ Big Band took to the stage for the first time at GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2016 and were met with open arms by the fans. The new line-up of DENNIS GREAVES (Guitar/Vocals), MARK FELTHAM (Harmonica/Vocals), MICKEY BURKEY (Drums), BEN WILLIS (Bass), CHARLIE AUSTEN (Vocals), ANDREW NOBLE (Keyboards), CHRIS RAND (Saxophone) & PAUL JORDANOUS (Trumpet) then embarked on a 30- date tour of the UK, including a sensational appearance at A New Day Festival, to coincide with the release of 13 SHADES OF BLUE in September 2016. We are delighted to have them back again at our Blues Festival.
Elles Bailey has a talent for crafting and seamlessly weaving rootsy blues, country, and soulful rock, with a contemporary edge. What’s more fate has blessed her with a ‘smoky vocal’ style that perfectly fits her music, after a stint in hospital as a child changed her voice forever. Reviewers have been wowed by Elles' debut album Wildfire(which charted at no.2 in the iTunes Blues Charts) with Maverick Magazine gave ‘Wildfire’ top marks (5/5) calling every song ‘Fresh & Original’ And Blues In Britain reminding us that ‘It’s a fact that very few make it to the big stage but Elles Bailey has the necessary talent, the drive, and now the product.’
Catch Elles Bailey at BOTF in 2019 and look out for the new album ‘Road I Call Home’ coming soon.

Sam Kelly's Station House is a “groove” band with dancing very much in mind. Their musical catalogue includes Johnny Guitar Watson, Keb Mo, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Gary Moore, Stevie Wonder, Little Feat, to name but a few. Their unique sound is influenced by New Orleans second line, soul, jazz, calypso, reggae and British funk. With two ‘lead’ singers supported by bassman, percussionist and internationally acclaimed drummer, the result is an eclectic fusion of music with its roots firmly based in the blues.
They regularly form the houseband for overseas visiting artists, charity events and "one-off shows". Performances include supporting the Soul Britannia Allstars Tour (Madeline Bell, Hamish Stewart, Linda Lewis), Chicago Beau, Imelda May, Robben Ford, Chris Barber, Andy Fairweather Low, Bernie Marsden & Paul Jones.
BAD PENNIES - Top dollar rock & blues from the Medway Delta… Bad Pennies are a tight, no-nonsense blues rock band, inspired by the finest blues-rockers of the 70’s & 80’s – think Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter, SRV, Dr Feelgood and ZZ Top. Originally from London, Gary Seager put the band together when he turned up in the Medway towns. The current band has been together for three years and has developed its own style of raw, unadulterated blues-rock. Gary Seager: guitar Adam Stocker: vocals & harp Gavin Matthews: bass Dave Two-Jackets: drums
BIG RIVER - Big River are a melting pot of varied influences that can be best described as “Alternative Blues”. This creates a distinctive sound which has heard the band being given the title of “The new Bad Company” by a number of people who’ve seen them play. Heavy, powerful, melodic and raw, they can make you pump your fist in the air one minute, sing along the next or hear a pin drop the next. They are a team of established musicians with a shared passion for the music they create. Big River started life in 2016 as a Blues Rock covers band. They played all over Kent in pubs and clubs gaining a solid reputation. It wasn’t long before the guys knew they could write a catchy tune or two. This lead them to move away from the pub circuit and receive global radio play of their single “Hometown Hustler” which to this day remains an audience favourite. Successful appearances at Cambridge Rock Festival, the Half Moon Putney and Camden Underworld followed and the band attracted attention from the likes of Dave “Bucket” Colwell (Bad Co / Humble Pie), Laurence Archer (Grand Slam / UFO) and Leona Graham (Absolute Radio). Notable supports include Little Caesar, Marco Mendoza, Dr Feelgood, Frankie Millers Fullhouse Band, Kris Barras, Dave “Bucket” Colwell & Friends. Late 2018 saw the addition of a new vocalist and the band will be completing work on their debut album due for release in early 2019. 2018 has been a great year for Big River; penning new songs, playing great gigs. A year in which we have welcomed a new singer and strengthened our sound with another guitarist. We very much look forward to finishing our album and taking it on the road!
THE MENTULLS - Since being formed by brothers Andrew & Jamie Pipe in late 2008, award winning British rock band The Mentulls have carved out a niche for themselves on the international rock and blues scene. With music critics calling them “a band to watch now and for years to come”, “so talented, so good” and “the future of prog rock” the band have earned a reputation for blending original, emotive, bluesy classic rock with progressive rock instrumentality played with gusto and energy. As well as recording three albums to date, with their latest opus “Reflections” having received rave reviews and acclaim, the band as well as headlining their own shows have toured internationally and opened for a plethora of big-name artists including Wishbone Ash, Focus, Walter Trout, Dr Feelgood among many others. In addition, the band have made many large festival appearances where they have shared the stage with the likes of The Stranglers and Feeder. Also, the band and its members have won and been nominated for numerous awards including Young Artist of The Year in ‘The British Blues Awards’ two years running in 2012 & 2013. Away from the band the members have worked with Grammy award winners to rock legends. Now, in 2019 after a short break away from the live arena Andrew, Jamie and long-time drummer Nick Colman are joined on vocals by David Neil Crabtree, who brings a new soulful dimension to the band. "prog rock legends" BBC Radio "tipped to become icons" Fretwork Network "utterly compelling" Liverpool Sound & Vision
DR SCHWAMP - Doctor Schwamp, aka Sean MacGloin, leads a high-energy, eclectic five-piece band, combining fiddle, bagpipes, harmonica, bass and drums, trumpet and guitar. Hailing from the Bronx, by way of Cuba, the multi-talented Doctor and his band play a combustible mixture of blues, ska, gypsy and country guaranteed to get you up on your feet. The Independent newspaper said of Sean, “It is MacGloin’s charisma, energy and musicianship that dazzle. His personality is capable of filling a venue of any size.” Their highly literate lyrics and carefully crafted songs will take you on a journey where you’ll meet drunks, devils, gold diggers, outlaws and bootleggers to name but a few. Doctor Schwamp and his band have played gigs the length and breadth of the country getting rapturous responses everywhere they go, from the Village Underground in London to the Avalon stage at Glastonbury.
